White and black balls couldn’t be sourced for this job so we had to test which colours to use in pre-prod. Yellow and dark blue turned out to be the easiest to convert back to black and white, so those coloured balls were ordered and shot. Of course, this meant all the shadows and reflections were yellow and blue too, so we had to neutralise them in post. The background needed to be extended by comping plates together. But the wrong coloured shadows made this trickier, so we created new shadows to sit over the top of the balls. Finally, an edgy colour grade made for a high-end fashion finish. A good challenge this one.
